Mr. Lincoln Poem by Kervan Aaron

Mr. Lincoln

Rating: 5.0

History can be so exciting
Learning about Lincoln is so delighting
All he wanted was peace not fighting
After the Civil War
John Wilkes Booth bore
A hole in Mr. Lincoln’s left ear
Because he had the right of arms to bear
Mr. Lincoln was shot in the night
Darn, John Wilkes Booth’s right
Mr. Lincoln died the next morning
Everyone saw this act as appalling
On Mt. Rushmore Lincoln is carved
While John Wilkes Booth rotted behind wires of barbed
