Movements Poem by Michael Egan

Movements

If you felt a major tremor
In the early quiet dawn
Woke and sought its cause around you
Though invisible and gone

Kissing you, my lovely Naiad:
It was nothing more than me
Explodingly volcanic
In your cavern by the sea

In your cavern by the sea, my love,
I danced our magic dance,
With pirouettes and arabesques
And jetés au dedans

And you cried out in ecstasy
And gave me all your love
And I took it and returned it
And beneath the earth did move
