Mouth Ever-Open Poem by Josephine Chifundo Likoya

Mouth Ever-Open

Things that are seen
Connecting with mind
Mouth opened
Saying what eyes have seen
Eyes are always looking
Seeing all sorts of things
Minds always take what eyes see

Some always say everything they see
Mocking every little thing seen on others
Laughing, to them it’s funny
Slavery of their own mouth
Bad addiction of the mind
When words are many, sin is present

The wise always know when to talk
Always hold their mouth
Escaping trouble the mouth brings
Peace of mind that calls for happiness
