Our motto
Is to never show fear
But standing with our backs
Against the wall
It's clear that motto
Is the furthest thought we
Have at the moment
The youngest soldier is beside me
Just graduated from high school
His eyes are scared
His youthful face
Twisted
With the need to flee
Far from the enemy
A single tear falls from his eye
As a single shot is fired
And I watch the boy die
One shot
For every man
Until I am
The only one
Left standing
They raise their gun to shoot
I should feel scared but I just feel
Numb
I close my eyes
But the shot doesn't come...
