Motorbike Mania Poem by Talmadge Rogalla

Motorbike Mania

The morning broke,
As I cycled mile after mile,
The weather was good,
Bringing forth a pleasant smile.
Had a lift up yonder,
I wanted to start my bike,
The darn thing wouldn't fire up,
So back I had to hike.
The bike was very heavy,
As I bumped it down the road,
By gum wasn't it exhausting,
Pushing such a clumsy load.
Forgot to switch to reserve,
Far too cold to think,
At last it fired up,
As my face was turning pink.
My first attempts were futile,
Before I switched to reserve,
If only I had realised,
I wouldn't have lost my nerve.
