Mother No Longer Poem by Tiffanie Farmer

Mother No Longer

If I smile it turns to a sigh
A lonely tear escapes my eyes
I think of your face
I can see a lifetime of mistakes

My lonely tear continues to fall down
As my half hearted smile turns to a frown
The burden of you I can’t keep in my soul
For it keep me from being whole

I loved you for being my mother
But where were you when I needed a cover
You where not in my sight
I looked with all my might

Maybe loosing the presence of you
The one thing I thought I couldn’t do
Made me stronger
I need you…. No longer
