Mother Earth Poem by Keith Parsons

Mother Earth

Rating: 5.0

If I could leap one thousand miles,
I’d hold a breath till space came near
Then I would splash and swim to light,
In sparkled night and moonlit glare

I’d float on high and circle faster
The matriarchal bluish ball
See the hurried others pass me
For them the nearest way to home

And there I’d be just floating easy
Swooshing arms and legs about
Going nowhere fast so freely
Worried that my time is out

My orbit yields to mother’s calling
She reaches for her only son
I try to hide but she is knowing
The race around her center, won

Of course the mother knows the better
Of where her children shouldn’t go
So harsh is her scolding for me
It burns a little coming home

Beautiful and creative, i must say, Keith...imaginations soaring high...and they land on earth with a beatiful message to give...10
