Mother Poem by Kolawole Emmanuel

Mother

MOTHER

When my eyes drop tears,
'Fading out for fears'
You're always near,
'Showing your gentle care'

You mean more than all,
'I can't compare you'
You are my leaning wall,
'And the best i have knew'

You give me hope to go on,
'Riding up none stop'
And when am falling down,
'You're here to hold me up'

When am fast at sleep,
'I know you always weap'
Making gentle request,
'That i should be mighty in wealth'

O' my mother,
'I know i can't repay'
But i will keep on been a trier'
'Until a better day'
