Mother Poem by spiritual seeker

Mother

Dearest mother, Queen of my heart…
Without you, I will not be here today,
You brought me up in this world,
With a tender loving care.
Your sleepless nights, your pain…
Your supplications and melodious songs,
comfort your children to deep slumber,
while you worry what awaits our future,
As life in those times are tough and unsure.

O mother, garden of my heart…
Your face shine brighter than the full moon in a cloudless sky.
No voice is sweeter than yours,
You thought us read and write,
Those beautiful rhymes and prayers,
ethics and behaviour.
When sickness came to trouble us,
you are always there to nurse us,
your gentle loving touch,
brought tears of comfort flowing down our cheeks.

Dearest mother…
The day I visited you lying very sick in bed,
Breathing heavily and all strength has left you,
I kissed your cheek, my last kiss, the most beautiful kiss.
I felt the warmth of your cheek,
and my heart beat its most painful beat,
And my breath stopped in my throat.

O Mother…
Why was I so heartless to leave you?
At the moment you needed me most,
Forgive me dearest mother…..
this ungrateful son of yours.

On that fateful day,
With great sorrow, I laid you down to rest,
Rest in peace...coolness of my eyes,
After all the sacrifices you made in this world,
I pray, this place be a paradise for you.

O My crying heart, make a solemn promise!
As long as I see the sunrise,
My love and supplications will continuously flow to you,
Till the day we meet again,
Dearest mother,
Oasis of my desert and light of my sun.
