Mother Poem by David DeSantis

Mother

Rating: 3.5

From the first breath
as a little child,
all i have ever known
has been you
mother.

From the first sound,
as a syllable,
all of it,
spoken
by you
mother.

Every movement,
thought,
and morality,
all lessons learned
from you
mother.

Who I am,
who I will be,
my tone,
control
and humility,

inherent traits
of you
mother.

Even as a teen,
rebelling
against the strength
of your guidance,

I still knew
no finer woman
than you
mother.

Forgiving by nature,
love
unconditional,

never for granted,
you as
my mother.

You are who i am,
as i am who you are,
as my children will be me,
and in them will be you.

You mother.

Stunning mark of respect from clearly someone who appreciates the love and guidance shared by a parent in order to keep us boisterous lot on track. Great piece, definitely one for a mothers day card....10/10 Stay strong my friend Jon.

As wide as the ocean As deep as the sea, As high as the heavens is her love for her child..................a fine tribute to the soul whose love and care is responsible for our existence...., She plays her part well and now is the responsibility of the children to show their gratitude...and you do it so well.... the poem also reflects your personality...a kind, gentle and truly humane. liked the sentiment of the words too much... **Abha**

Many people, including myself, don't give enough thought to our mothers... we don't realize all that they have done for us... This is a wonderful writing, and it's actually quite funny because I have been thinking a lot about the people that influence and care for us the most- family. I really enjoyed reading this one. One mum is a container. However we love to stay inside there. Sooner or later we'll return. In the meantime we live.

The last lines show all the simple yet complicated strands of family transmission. Very nicely put indeed. Thanks for it. Hope your mother saw this poem.
