Mosquito Poem by Kyle Schlicher

Mosquito

Thirsty
annoying
little pest
relentless
in its unending quest
its lifelong pursuit
for the truth
it believes exists
somewhere in my blood.
I watch,
as it,
at great bodily risk,
does what is necessary
for it
to stay alive
to survive
to expose the lie
that we cannot coexist.
