Morning Psalm Poem by Paul Clement Czaja

Morning Psalm

I am yours, Father,
In this day of your creating,
I am here!
My seeing is your seeing.
My loving is your loving.
Whatever splendors I take into my life,
You are there!
Whatever loves well up in my heart,
You take part!
Like the tree,
I see you in the sun’s light,
And I grow toward you.
Like the bird,
I know you in the truth of flying,
And I swoop for you.
Like the bee,
I love you in the way of sipping nectar,
And I relish you!
Father,
If I turn my eyes in loving on someone,
You are going with me.
If I try to put in to words all that I feel,
You come to help me.
If I close my eyes in prayer and call to being,
You allow, you allow.
Father,
My thanks sing out from my bones,
And I dance even while standing still.
Father,
I stay awake all day,
And my face won’t stop smiling.
Father,
You hug me and,
Your hand is in my hair.
I am your anointed child,
My loves are your loves.
My hopes become
Your surprise gifts to me
Each blessed day.
