Moonlight Sonata Poem by Kevin Moore

Moonlight Sonata

Rating: 5.0

He watches her sleeping
And cannot help but smile in wonder
At the flutter of her eyelids
And the peaceful laughter
Still playing on her lips
(A very private joke
They share between them, still):
Her hands against his chest
Bring lightness to his heart,
Make him forget what life
May have been before her-
Make him realize how
Little he knew of love
Before he held her close.
They lay as innocents
Bathed in puddled moonlight,
He is aware only of her
As they come together
Across the night, beyond
What might have been…
He watches her sleeping.
