Moonbeams Poem by Patrice James

Moonbeams

You’re a room of sweet wind chimes
Enlightened by a breeze.
Slanting steep across a summer lawn
Gilding life with all that love can end.

Make a paradise of some bleak shoal,
Turning truth to something far more clearly.
As sweet and rich as honey-
Colours sun slanting steep across
A summer lawn.

The fountain mingle with river,
And the river with the ocean
And the sunlight clasps the earth
And the moonbeams kiss the sea.
The golden chain of friendship
Is a strong and blessed tie.

We form our friendships
With flourish and grow,
till the end of time.
When god felt generous,
Looked down at me and smiled
Magnanimous, I’d like to give
You something.
With great anticipation.
