Money Poem by Chris Jibero

Money

The dazzling princess of the
universe
beautiful, alluring and voluptuous
a seductive spinster wooed
by every eligible bachelor
each striving to outclass
others for everyone knows
that he who wins your heart
has for himself and progeny
built a life-time bulwark

A lovely lass
so shy and elusive
astutely dropping toil and
sweat day and night on the
path of man and being so
egregious and generous
a damsel you capitulate
to all in varying degrees

To many you flash a smile
to some a handshake or a peck
to some yet an embrace or a kiss
and with a few others you solemnise
your love
caressing them with your
jelly hands with your butter
legs entwined at their back
as you moan in measured ecstasy

To lovers who pamper you
you keep for better and
for worse treating them like
lords in your cherished presence
but those who treat you with
carelessness and disdain you
beat blue and black being a benign
spring to the wise but a terrible
tsunami to those who underestimate
you due to your unassuming and docile
disposition that enhances your
mobility like a mischievous ghost

A taxi you are
and as egg is to hen
so you are too to love
and power
forests you turn to cities
and make scowling and groaning
bellies wear smiles that flow
like Lady Diana's train

A do-it-all you are
in the hands of the wise
but a time bomb that detonates
in the hands of fools
who chase you in fair and foul
weather in unbridled desire
unmindful of your shunt limit.
