Mommy Can You Hear Me? Poem by Lagaya Evans

Mommy Can You Hear Me?

Mommy can you hear me?
I'm so little and frail
My body's now forming
My color so peaked and pale

My shape to you
Is now unknown
I'm a little girl
You can call your own

It's been a month now
Your still unaware
That a body so tiny
In your life you share

I can hear you speak
To people all around
I now wonder
If my daddy has been found

It's been two months now
I'm sure you know
My life in you
Is now starting to grow

Mommy can you hear me?
I'm a life, too you see
Please! No mommy!
My life don't take from me

I'll love you forever
Here on earth
If you'll give me the chance
To be born in birth

Just remember mommy
I still love you so
Even though my life
You took for reasons I don't know

I'm now in Heaven
At my fathers side
I long to see you
Show you my life

Mommy can you hear me?
I'll have a brother too
Please! Give him a chance
He, too loves you
