Moments Of Free Musings Poem by priyanka choudhury

Moments Of Free Musings

Oh, freedom, to be free
It always brings a song out of me
To be out running on the roads of my dream
Smug in bed
Even as the clock chimes ten and
Lets me know I am late

Oh, to bunk my class
And catch the Friday movie rush
To have hot dark chocolate
And for my gym classes be late.
To be able to tell my date I don’t like him at all
That it’s his best friend who turns me on.

To call up home and tell everything’s fine
That I am living it up in rain and sunshine
While unwept tears choke my voice
This big bad world doesn’t give you a choice.

Oh the wonderful smile I put on when you are there
I do it out of professionalism, truth is I don’t care
Oh to have one real laugh, one innocent fantasy
Steal moments of joy from the hours of hypocrisy.
