Modern Dates Poem by Hafiz Firuz

Modern Dates

She grabbed my hand, and pulled me down,
whispered in my ear that this will end with a frown.

Ignored her words and went to war,
with this beautiful creature I've never encountered before.

Spent the days preparing myself,
catering my mind, and keeping my health,
loading my guns with tons of excuses,
also training the phallus, it's quite the recluse

Head to head, lips like candy,
my ammunition was mere poetry,
She gave me her stare, a cold, demanding stare,
teasing me to come towards her, if I dare.

I lack firepower, for all I had was a suit and a tie,
and of course a lovable smile,
but she had platoons and fleets,
shaking my soul with her looks, so chic,

I've never been shaken this bad before,
I don't know what to do and I think she knows,
I sweated bad, almost better than a pig,
In her eyes, she sees me as someone weak

I buckled up and sold my soul,
sold my faith, and sold my face,
there's nothing that I want more,
than making her heartbeat pick up the pace

Took her hand and led the way,
with a trembling heart but still hope to sway,
little did I know, I overcame this fear,
now what's left is a wonderful cheer

We came into contact,
and got drunk on fun,
everything was perfect and before I knew it, it's all done

Woke up with a smile and her air by my side,
her scent lingers, but her? Was not in my sight,
She warned me before of how this will end,
indeed she's right, a night well spent
