'Mistakes' Poem by Bernard Snyder

'Mistakes'

Rating: 2.9

I'm not perfect by any stretch
I've made mistakes with many regrets,
I've burned bridges I shouldn't have crossed
for which I had to pay a price
four times what it actually cost,
but I've since grown
and learned in the process
that living a perfect life is
unheard of and farfetched,
so I've taken those mistakes
and all the bridges I've burned
try to build from it all
and just consider them 'lessons learned.

Nicely expressed...the best way to realize is to learn from your mistakes, like the line 'I've burned bridges I shouldn't have crossed' - has a keen touch! !
