Mistaken.Identity Poem by jasmine margetson

Mistaken.Identity

i am in a trance
he something unknown
with vernacular so manifest
and powerful
with barely any effort shown
his tone so direct
my vitals say im stoned
he says to me
your significant
you have purpose
and to me you stand erectly above the rest
he cant be for real; it felt like a test
i stood there trying to collect
and understand his dialect
he's saying don't think so hard
lifts my chin and says to me your the best
and then i suddenly went deaf
trying my hardest to reject
everything said so he doesn't feel misled or neglected
when i turned out to fall short of what he expected
i feel caged in
with no outlet.no way to win
im just a prisoner of my own sin
and i've converted him
to see a person i could never be in the end
