Missing You Dad Poem by Kathleen Viaes

Missing You Dad

Daddy, won’t you hold me close and walk with me today?

I’m nestled in your safe, strong arms, so comforted this way.

Daddy, won’t you take my hand? It’s dark, and I’m so small.

But when you hold my little hand, I am not scared at all.

Can you come beside me Daddy? The road is rough ahead.

I need your love and guidance. “I’m here for you”, you said.

I wish we could visit more Dad, you moved so far away.

But I love to call and talk to you, each and every day.

Dad, I had to say goodbye, one last and final time.

God took you up to heaven, and you left us all behind.

I miss you so much Daddy, but I know someday I’ll be,

Beside you there with Jesus,

For all eternity.

A profound poem of being alone and desiring someone who has crossed the Rubicon.
