Missing You Poem by John Vickery IV

Missing You

Missing you

Wish you were here as I lay in bed,
But your not, you're just in my head.
I long to lean over and give you a gentle touch,
And tell you I love you so very much.

But you're gone away so far away,
I could not go, I had to stay.
I miss your smile your laugh your eyes,
How they are brighter than the stars in the sky.

The life of a woman in the military
I know, Must be hard and very scary.
But you do your job with honor and pride,
I love you for that, that I can not hide.

But it pains me every time you go,
Its always like the first time, its hurts me so.
I tell myself that you will be back tomorrow,
But when tomorrow gets here, I still have sorrow.

So as I lay in bed, wishing you were here,
To have, hold, and comfort my baby dear,
I will hold your pillow real close to me,
And dream of how its going to be.
