Misery In The Dire Mire Marsh Poem by Justin Gildow

Misery In The Dire Mire Marsh

Reaching the Dire Mire Marsh
We can see the quicksand
We can see the decayed trees and muddied branches
And many other disgusting and dying things here in this quagmire

And so we press on
Leaping from stone to stone
While avoiding the frogs

There's a stairway leading down
And if above ground was a mess
Under ground is probably going to be worse

Everything is filthy and dirty down here
And also joining is the quicksand
We both know that we need to trust each other
If we're going to make it out of Dire Mire Marsh alive
So we must help each other
We'll leap together at the same time
Going stone by stone

It definitely feels like misery down here
Misery in the Dire Mire Marsh
Where down where we are is home to mud men and bats
But we brave our way through them
While trying to find our way out of the Dire Mire Marsh
