Mirrored Heart Poem by Jennifer Woodland

Mirrored Heart

My heart is shattered
Like cold glass
Slipped from unsteady hands
Onto concrete
The first crack
Breaks its way to the top
Splintering off
Causing pieces to fall
Shattering smaller and smaller
When you open your eyes
The mirror lies on the ground
Unfixable and ruined
It’s irreplaceable
My heart is that mirror
And you just dropped it.
