MIRROR

YOU CAN DO WHAT I DO
MOVE WHEN I MOVE,
DANCE WHEN I DANCE,
SING WHEN I SING
JUMP WHEN I JUMP,
LAUGH WHEN I LAUGH,
SMILE WHEN I SMILE
CRY WHEN I CRY,
POINT BACK WHEN I POINT AT YOU
DO LIKE I DO.
HAPPY WHEN I'M HAPPY,
SAD WHEN I'M SAD
-BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY
NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO AND
HOW GOOD YOU CAN BE AT IMITATING ME
YOU COULD NEVER FEEL THE PAIN I'VE FELT,
UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M FEELING,
BE THERE FOR ME WHEN I NEED YOU THE MOST,
WIPE MY TEARS WHEN I CRY,
LOVE ME FOR WHO I AM, NOT FOR WHAT YOU DESIRE TO SEE,
TALK TO ME WHEN I'VE DONE WRONG,
TELL ME THAT I'M BEAUTIFUL EACH TIME I LOOK AT YOU,
OR RECOGNIZE IF I'M WEARING A NEW DRESS, OR
HAVE A NEW HAIRSTYLE,
YOU WOULDN'T TELL ME TO CORRECT THE MISTAKES I CAN'T SEE.
SIMPLE BECAUSE YOU ARE JUST MY REFLECTION
THAT APPEAR ONLY IN THE LIGHT, IN THE DARK
YOU CAN'T SEE,
YOU ARE MY REFLECTION
-MY MIRROR.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I WAS SO INSPIRED BY HOW THE MIRROR COULD BE SO ABLE TO GIVE YOU YOUR EXACTLY IDENTITY, IT'S LIKE IT CAN UNDERSTAND YOU AND WHAT YOU ARE THINKING BUT AT THE END IT JUST A MIRROR, YOU COULD NEVER RELAY ON IT FOR ADVICE YOU JUST HAVE TO PICK A DRESS AND DECIDE ON YOUR OWN IF YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE ON IT.I DEDICATE THIS POEM WHICH I WROTE ON THE 8 OF JULY 2013 TO MY LOVED ONCE HOPE THEY WILL ENJOY IT.

Poem of the Day

poet Christopher Marlowe

It lies not in our power to love or hate,
For will in us is overruled by fate.
When two are stripped, long ere the course begin,
We wish that one should love, the other win;
