Mirage Poem by Neil Graham Marsden

Mirage

Alight across the crowded bar room
Through the suffocating air.
There she lazed whilst all around her
Revered temptation seated there.

All now dreamed the day was dawning
When her familiar voice would be
The sound that wakened them from slumber
Each day into eternity.

How they wished their wives home waiting
Shared the rich seductive style
Of this perfect, flawless beauty
With the all inviting smile.

How easy then their faith forgotten
A mindless task of lust and greed
Not only the visa card got broken
As they drove home the Demon's seed
