Mimesis Poem by Abdullahi Suleiman Bello

Mimesis

Mimetic are you? Nay or yea?
Mollycoddle to me?
I wonder it.
Wooing is my intention.
Wonky and woozy I am. Sibylline
YOU become. Shyster YOU are, now.
Manky YOU become. Manipulative are you?
Masked your deception with
hospitality!
Masterstroke is achieve. Call
not picked up!
Absentee YOU are.
Catatonic I become. You played
a cat-and-mouse game with me!
To become my Cinderella?
I wonder it.
Chatty, companion, wondrous
YOU are not!
Ill-mannered silence and
absent-minded you are.
What an ill-fated promise?
