Milk And Honey

The first I heard that early morn
is that two tiny birds were born,
proud parents, fretting 'bout the nest,
were Finches, with an orange breast.

The nest was in a tall oak tree
which suits most finches to a T,
wild storms and rain was kept away
until the youngsters flew, in May.

That day, while walking I discovered
that a huge cloud which first had hovered
was getting ready to let fly
the usual showers from the sky.

However, this was not to be,
while looking up I failed to see
the rain or even the blue sky
so let me tell you people why.

It rained not water but pure honey,
where it had started out as sunny
the air looked amber, almost gold
I kid you not, lo and behold!

Accompanying honey was,
just after a three second pause,
pure white and creamy milk, it's true
all from the sky, which had been blue.

I thought perhaps I should seek shelter
since things looked now quite helter-skelter,
I therefore scouted all around
and found a haystack on the ground.

It was at least ten meters high,
but I decided I would try
to climb up to the top and rest,
well, in a sense, make my own nest.

I could not get a proper hold,
(Meanwhile the honey turned to gold) ,
when a large eagle landed near
and said, no need for you to fear,

he grabbed me gently and we flew
near where the sky had been so blue.
He dropped me and went on his way
while I relaxed there, in the hay.

A condor, wingspan of ten feet,
stopped by and said, how nice to meet
a human bird here on the hay
and then, he too went on his way.

Five minutes on, the bird returned
(He was a courier as I learned) ,
and set, with gentlenesse and grace
a female maiden near my face.

The maiden (most of them are girls)
had ash blond hair and pretty curls,
her dress consisted of pure silk
which had been stained by drops of milk.

She asked me to lie back for her,
then she came close, began to purr
just like a pussycat, I swear
my face was drowning in her hair.

The maiden then began to strip
and soon my heart began to skip.
When I was naked she began
to titillate my little man.

Her mouth was velvet, soft and wet
and little man began to fret.
He had, due to the sudden shock
expanded into solid rock.

The mouth did seem to like this though
and soon I noticed that below,
where silken dress had been hitched up,
there was an overflowing cup.

Not being ignorant of bliss,
I wandered and began to kiss
that secret place, there at the mound
it seemed that Heaven I had found.

For forty days and forty nights
we stayed there, and performed those rites,
we lived off honey, milk and love
which still was raining from above.

It was the day when God decreed
that human birds who have a need
to tangle in a carnal way
would have the angels have a say.

A vote was due and as they counted
the tension on the haystack mounted.
Then God announced, this is forever
time will be stopped and you shall never

be taken down from this, your nest,
we smiled and felt supremely blessed.
And thus we stayed for what may seem
to some of you, a wishful dream.

However, do not doubt the Gods,
although this all defies the odds;
if this turns out a silly dream
don't wake me, please or I shall scream!
