Miles And Miles Away Poem by Umasree Raghunath

Miles And Miles Away

You may miles and miles away
But still you are with me every day
The miles just seem to disappear
Making me believe you are just here
Each night, when I sit down to dine
You are in the chair across mine
Your smile erases my every tear
The picture I tore in half
Is back in the frame again
But once a heart is torn apart
It’s never the same again
This lonely dream I am clinging to
Is not at all like holding you
And yet, it’s all that I can do
And until you decide to appear
I have got to make believe you’re here
You may make me believe you’re near
