Midnight Proposal Poem by Bartholomew Arkoh Boamah Sarbah

Midnight Proposal

Rating: 5.0

For your love
I have swallowed my fears
and I seek your pardon
that it should be this ungodly hour
when the enchanting angel should be sleeping

I defiled the natural order;
forfeited the slumbering breeze
Awaiting the sound of the singing clock
to announce the advent of Dead of night
so I can make it to your abode

I bow before you
With my kneels on the ground
and hands stretched out to you
Behold my heart in your palms
awaiting eagerly for your taking

My jowls are ready
to expel their offspring
conceived on our first encounter;
the offspring from the trinity of words
which is modern from ancient origin

Words of burning veneration
which shall never escape my lips
for your sake
Words that read,
“I LOVE YOU”

Beautiful love poem, well articulated and nicely penned from inner recesses of the heart. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
