Midnight Call Poem by Itai Oscar

Midnight Call

I pulled my screaming phone
under my pillow
wondering who is blowing my
phone this late

took a glance at the screen and
saw that it was my love.
she caressed my soul with her
honey coated voice,
its tender touch chasing away
every trace of drowsiness.
my heart jumped to my throat
and the heartbeat increased
with my closed eyes I listened to
every word she breathed out

after she hung up
all I could do was lay on my back
my hands behind my head
staring at the ceiling
and my mind got busy
thinking of our love
all this was triggered by the
midnight call
