Midnight Blue Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

Midnight Blue

Rating: 5.0

Vulnerable
And defeated worn out heart
Authentic lover so true
Sunset arrived much too quickly
Blanketing you in Midnight Blue.

Sorrow nearly destroyed you
As you wept waves of utter despair
A flash flood of tears - ever so devastating
While 'static' was alive in 'questionable' air.

With no rainbows to follow this cancerous tempest
No pot of gold - this time, waiting for you
For your desperate cries have gone unnoticed
Alas, you are still covered in deep Midnight Blue.

A blues poem....Midnight Blue. Yes, this could be expressed musically too. Great words and images evoked of a Broken heart. Nice musical flow.

Interesting. A little confusing- -I'm unsure who's blue- -you, or someone else, but overall- -I like your poem.

I could hear Billie Holiday singing this. Unfortunately, for one to write so well of this, it must have been experienced.
