Miami Poem by Jeffrey Quattlebaum

Miami

Let's take a walk
down to Miami Beach
see the pink hotel
the flamingo palm tree
little girls
coppertone butts
going bounce bounce bounce
drinking rum in the early morning
when the sleepy clams
open up and say
'what's your pleasure mister? '
On the boardwalk in
Hollywood FLA
in the morning
in the florida sticky
sweaty morning
lizards ice cream soda shake
dancers twirl around poles
in dark places hide away
sand and skin
everywhere and sun
hot damn sun
hot damn skin
a plastic shark hanging ten
sunburnt
in a hawaiian print
