Metaphors For Murder Poem by May Doyle

Metaphors For Murder

i've murdered myself with metaphors
a thousand times
and i'll do it again today
you think i don't hear i don't feel
i don't need
but we're doing this anyway
every word i hear you say
without thought or regard
is another knife sinking in my chest
is another life you've scarred
good morning
good night
good peace
good fight
good darkness
good light
good death
good life

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The irony is poetry is full of metaphors we can't get away from them. And yes we all murder ourselves and others metaphorically every day. I liked the way you put this poem together and enjoyed reading it. Thanks for sharing BB: O))
