Metamorphosis Poem by prabhakar bhatlekar

Metamorphosis

A great chance after ten
years, again to be on stage
and this Doctors report...
He brushed aside the gloom
and began humming dialogues.
After so long the heroic
Spanish moor was still
in his system.
Doctor's report was disturbing
but he began two hours
bus-journey to the theatre.
House was packed, to see the
gorgeous movie star as
moor's love and
unfortunate wife.
In Green room-mirror
he watched the Spanish moor.
Dark and ugly, heart broken
agonized husband..murderer.
Final bell, and he entered
the brightly lit stage
...possessed!
a storm of fierce emotions..
Victory, Love, Lust, Jealousy
overwhelmed him.
Spellbound, she was watching
him riding the storm with his
electrifying movements.
A moment of her hot breath
burnt his cheek.
And., a thunderous applause.
Both bowed to the joyous
audience, she squeezed
his palm.
Hurriedly he washed his face
and rushed to the waiting taxi.
Cool midnight breeze
thrilled his hot face.
After a while cabby stopped
the vehicle and turned to wake him.
The Spanish moor was lost
in a peaceful dreamless sleep
