! Metamorphosis
and with good fortune
the experience grows itself
into a poem; so that
the poem then may seed itself
into a new experience;
like two young lovers
one the poem’s beginning
the other the poem’s end,
looking, looking, in a crowd of thousands,
seeing each other, running toward –
the crowd so alien
then so soon, love.
