Metallurgy Poem by Gert Strydom

Metallurgy

I wanted to bind to you
with bonds binding like stainless steel
or another kind of more valuable metal
of silver or gold could do the thing

but then we had to separate
and I found that the bonds were formed
from aluminium or rather pewter
that breaks to pieces when tension comes
and very quick you did leave me.
