I want to thank you
For all your time
All your feedback and consideration
For being such great a friend
A listener
Making me alive
Bringing me out of the dark
Pulling me through
Up and out into the light

Giving me permanent happiness and grace
The thought of you brings peace

Lightening me up
Making me bright
Dulling the unhappiness that was my life

Smiling so grandly
Welcoming and embracing

Thank you for your guidance and your inspiration
Because of you
I started to write
An account of me and that of my life
I have grown
I'm pretty sure

I have not known anyone like you
No, not your kind of amazing
Though still amazing

Always there for me
I thank you
I know that I'm not alone
I know that you'll be here
Here to console and guide me away from despair

Thanks for telling me straight
Looking out for me so I won't fall
No hidden messages or grief
Thank you for advising me

Thank you for the best days of my life
Countless laughs
Endlessly smiling
Anticipating
You
Sweet time

Has passed
But no, I don't believe you're gone
