Mesopotamia Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Mesopotamia

Mesopotamia

It was Bush and Saddam
In fact, Ramsey-Reagan
And devil Khalilzad
All friends; criminals

Desert Storm was a game
Bombs, bullets in sky
Landed, killed, raining hail

Jim Carter paved that road
In Tabas air-crowd
With crash that collapsed

And why that?

CIA, MI6
KGB and MOSAD
Returned Shah to Tehran
Same removed rude Saddam

There are hills and mountains
The Tigris, Euphrates
Death-blood; Nineveh
Kings and kings; civilized

Now ISIS, USA
And of course their allies
In action united
Shed blood
Land and air

Nothing's left
No scroll, no shrine
My eyes Nile
Moses passed, Jesus come
Stir it, serve blood
