Merry-Go-Round Poem by Timothy Lee Hollandsworth Jr.

Merry-Go-Round

Rating: 4.5

Open the story book
Only to read the same story
Give it a second look
Just to repeat history
Up and down and all around
In merry circles we go
Caught in a wheel
We cannot progress
Never confessing what we feel
We only digress
When we send the same letters
All to the same address
What's past is past
and What's lost is lost
That doesn't mean we can never gain
That doesn't mean we have to stay in the rain
All we have to do is stop the ride
Get off our high horses and say goodbye.
