Mere Insanity Poem by Dr Igbinedion Obaretin

Mere Insanity

The weight of terror, cast
Down shadows of doubts, heart
Terribly bleeding, trebling at the feet
Of labour lost to failure.

The weight of fear, cast
On the path of strive, shadows of thoughts
Undefined all nights, lost
In the misty clouds of conspiracy.

The conspiracy against my soul, assembled
Here and now, never yielding
To courage anchored on nature refined
Of pure words to cold ears lacking affection.

Seeds cast on rocky earth, burnt
By the faceless sun of capitalism.
There is no humanity here:
A globe lost to mere insanity.
