Mercy-Duffy Poem by Jerry Pike

Mercy-Duffy

Mercy-Duffy

Sending me to shivers, kicking out a storm,
songing it for hell sake, devils been reborn.
Organ-melt emotions, fouring on the floor,
Duffy bred excitement, northern to the core.
Stompin’down a classic, licking flames of time,
beating hard the fast rules in a dance floor line.
Feed me sweetened mercy, dripping from your tongue,
shouting to a past life, yesterday had sung.
Stopping, starting heartbeat, drums the universe,
write me in the stave space, melody and verse.
