Mental Health Poem by Jeffrey Heathfield

Mental Health

When the world seemed joyful and cheerful,
I smiled and laughed, had no time to be dull,
The colours all around were vibrant and bright,
Felt I was looking around, at an eagles height,

Then the passage of life got in the way,
Shaping an uncontrolled path throughout the day,
Unbearable pace, to much, an outgoing fake,
Every day it was harder to break,

Not understanding this hopeless sad feeling,
Just the little words sent me reeling,
Locked in my mind, made, dark prison,
Can't explain what's happening, who will listen,

So, if you're reading this feeling in an abyss,
PLEASE reach out, sending hugs and a kiss.
