Memory Lane Poem by Rachel Branscombe

Memory Lane

One day while walking past a lake
I stopped and thought a while
Of the creatures that share this precious Earth of ours
Every creature both large and small
Is special on their own
From the smallest ant to the largest whale.
They all have their purpose.
As I started my walk again.
I thought of people.
I remembered my family.
I remembered my friends.
I remembered the people I'd lost

It was a strange day for my heart.
I was beat with pain unknown.
I did not know why.
It was a strange event indeed
But all the time I feel
That human beings are the weirdest thing
That or will ever be

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem I wrote after I actually did have a strange moment while I was walking. The images in the poem are all jumbled up like my memory.
