Memory Poem by amina kamran

Memory

I liked to run away from memory
I walked through a beautiful valley
where there are streams of clear water
Drunk with your lips but it made me sober
greenery so green that it makes me alive
greenery like mirror, Inside I could see the image of my life
I've walk and walked but never got tired
soft whispers of my heart admired
there on that mound, there we first met
and there, under that tree
we sang the song of love
and that bird was our witness
when we made our vows
there on the tree was our home
we lived like royals in a messy room
then came the stormy night
our house was there no more
the valley was there so was the greenery
everything was the same as ever
the thing that I lost was the person i loved
the birds, the greenery still pleasing
I liked to run away from memory
I walked through a beautiful valley
where there are streams of clear water
Drunk with your lips but it made me sober
i still walk tat valley as beautiful as before
the streams are still clear as before
But the person is not there anymore
