Memories Of You Poem by Karen Edwards

Memories Of You

Long thought quiescent,
they come unbidden
the quintessence of
a flamboyant fairy tale,
teasingly tactile
both luscious and bittersweet,
though I am ambivalent
to receive them.
Our time, sacrosanct
the immolation of our
arcane bond, more
than I can bear.
Love the great
intercessor
allowing me
to cherish them,
even through
the pain of grief.
