Memories In Hand (To A New Year) Poem by Mary Havran

Memories In Hand (To A New Year)

Rating: 3.9

Raise the glass
Swirl the spirits
Clinking the crystal
Toast those present
Memorializing the many
Absent this assemblage

Raise the mug
Savor the aroma
Embracing the warmth
Cherish the moment
Remembering the past
Drink to the future

Raise the goblet
Of family and friendship
Gathering in kinship
Recollect the gladness
Binding ancient wounds
Banish every sorrow

Raising the chalice
Of spirit and season
A mere midnight moment
Future reminiscence
Memories in making
We hold here in hand
