The browning pages of his notebooks
A fierce bodhisattva
Left behind to remind him of the dangerous times
When they were lovers and all but
Passion faded from view
Now thoughts like mice
Gnaw at the pages
Leaving the confetti of unfinished love,
Roses and doubt
