Memories Poem by Billy Loving

Memories

Chilling of the rain
Assuring me I'm still sane
Pain in my arm
No need to alarm
Blurring of the eye
As the light passes by
Stiffness of the heel
Scar I conceal
Memories that won't cease
Frustration, the need to release
Thoughts out of control
Clinging to my soul
Mind that runs so fast
How long will it last?
Scenes flash, one after the other
Disinterest, I cover
Alone with my thoughts again
As the visions spin
Unable to forget
Not knowing where they went
Like a well worn book
A disjointed look
Unable to relax
Solace, he subtracts
Pen, a brief reprieve
Reason to believe
One day when there will be
A better world for me
