Memories Poem by anthony john cerrito, sr.

Memories

Born into the silent world of
Deaf and muted.
Speaking with gentle hands and fingers.
A language many, ignorant of.
School nuns smarting at the lack thereof.
Wearing hand-me-downs to Sunday mass.
From this I say without sass,
I walk with pride, strength and family.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The difficulties the parents had to go through growing up. While the son learning two languages took everything for granted.
